Gathering Toys as Usual: Toys for Tots Trail Ride is Modified | SLO Horse News

Every year financially struggling families in our community enjoy having brighter holidays with gifts from the Toys for Tots trail ride.  Although the annual Atascadero Horsemen’s Club Toys for Tots trail ride has been modified this year, community families may actually be more in need this year.  Therefore, the trail ride will gather toys, gifts and cash/checks as usual.

The Atascadero Horsemen’s Club has been gathering toys and cash/checks for families in need through a Toys for Tots trail ride. Atascadero Horsemen’s Club started in 1964. Right out of the chute they secured a way to support the local community, specifically children during the holidays.  Sponsoring a toy drive in connection with the Toys for Tots program helps them accomplish that goal. Come participate with them!

46th Annual Toys for Tots Trail Ride

This year, the 46th Annual Toys for Tots trail ride will function a bit differently. Typically, Atascadero Horsemen’s Club organizes a trail ride for the public. Usually collecting toys and gifts takes place followed by enjoying a marked trail ride route in the Salinas Riverbed. Participants enjoy the trail ride on their own.  This year, due to COVID, changing the plans results in pre-set drop-off locations for participants making donations.
