The conversation we started in the truck we carried onto the trail. Along the way we marveled at the vista views of the lake and surrounding foothills, the moss-draped oak trees providing frequent shade canopies, and the wildlife sharing the environment with us. Black Bear Equestrian Camp is located at the end of this meandering road, tucked away from the activity of Lopez Lake Recreational Area, yet close enough to enjoy if desired. My friends, who have booked the camp for a few days, know the area well. Several horse trails are directly accessible from the Equestrian Camp.
