Fun for All at the Redwings Horse Sanctuary Block Party

Grab a friend and bring the family to experience the Redwings Horse Sanctuary Block Party!  Sunday, September 10, 2023 will be a day of all-around fun, coupled with the opportunity to visit the sanctuary. The event supports the Redwings mission to rescue abused, abandoned and neglected equines. In addition, it provides an educational outreach with the goal of finding adoptive homes for the equines.

The Block Party debuted in 2021 as a Grand Opening and 30th Anniversary Event celebrating Redwings new permanent sanctuary home in Paso Robles.  Redwings Horse Sanctuary, founded in 1991 in Carmel, is a GFAS (Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries) accredited rescue and sanctuary.

The event was such a wonderful success of bringing the local community together to celebrate and bring in needed funds. Therefore, the obvious decision is the Redwings Horse Sanctuary Block Party is now an annual occurrence.

Fun and Food for All

The Block Party event takes place on Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 11:00-3:00.

All ticket holders will enjoy a BBQ lunch catered by co-host CASS Winery, live music from Monte Mills and the Lucky Horseshoe Band, Paradise Shaved Ice, Shoot’n Booth, wine and beer will be on tap for purchase from: Vina Robles Vineyard & Winery, Bella Luna Estate Winer, Ella’s Vineyard, Defiance Vineyard plus self-guided tours of the sanctuary and barns and equine demonstrations.

In addition, both a silent auction and a live auction are part of the fun. .

All this is made possible not only by Redwings Horse Sanctuary and CASS Winery as the Co-host, but by many community businesses: Jana Lynn Kaba/Platinum Properties, Wheeler Foundation, Bank of the Sierra. VIP Tables Make the Day Even More Special

Five VIP tables of eight are reservable for a special treat of the meal served by dedicated wait staff. On top of the delicious BBQ the VIP tables feature the addition of charcuterie boards, wine for the table, and a special 4×4 tour of the 141-acre sanctuary. The Redwings sanctuary is home to more than 77 rescued equines.

Sanctuary Tours Are All Part of the Fun Block Party Experience

Linelle Soxman, part time Development Officer of Redwings, is looking forward to: “Educating the public about the work Redwings does as a nonprofit organization, raising money through the Silent and Live Auctions to continue to support the horses, eating some amazing BBQ, and, having a Dreamsicle shaved ice!”

Race horses or other horses who are not suitable for adoption, become Redwings residents with a permanent sanctuary.

Redwings offers ongoing tours to the general public and is an Aftercare Facility for TAA and CARMA to place retired California racing thoroughbreds.  Retraining these thoroughbreds happens at Redwings. Adopting out many of these horses to enjoy life as a sport horse or a trail horse is the goal. Race horses or other horses who are not suitable for adoption, become Redwings residents with a permanent sanctuary.

Highlight Sunday, September 10, 2023 on your calendar. Plan to be at the Redwings Horse Sanctuary Block Party located at 6875 Union Road, Paso Robles. General Admission tickets are $50. This provides you with a BBQ lunch, a glass of wine or beer, a self-guided tour, Shoot’n Booth photo souvenir, and Paradise Shaved Ice.

You will also enjoy the Live Auction presided over by Cody Dawson and music by Monte Mills and the Lucky Horseshoe Band.  Additional wine, beer and soft drinks are available for purchase.

Gates open at 11:00 am, parking attendants will help guests park on site. Non-reserved seating/tables for General Admission tickets, with five VIP Reserved Tables of eight are also available. BBQ lunch is provided by CASS winery, our Co-Host.  TICKETS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE ONLINE.
