Keeping the Family Connection Through the Shutdown : Premier Ag

As a family-run business Premier Ag knows how important it is to keep the family connection. This was their focus through the shutdown and now as they embrace the reopening of SLO County. Ashley Rider, spokesperson for Premier Ag, describes this special business, “Premier Ag is a family-owned and operated business with deep roots in Paso Robles, CA. We are extremely customer and community driven and work hard to make sure we have everything our customers need and provide them with a shopping experience that is unlike any other.”

Premier Ag Pivoted During the Shutdown

Premier Ag was deemed an essential business during the shutdown as they provide feed and other vital products for the horse, livestock and agricultural communities. In response, Premier Ag turned to curbside pick-ups and no-contact deliveries. They also stepped up the detail cleaning in the store. These activities will continue to be the forefront of their retail store going forward. Ashley explains, “Thankfully our business hasn’t changed too dramatically. We have continued to make our working environment as clean as possible as well as no-contact deliveries and in store pick-ups.”

Another service added during the shutdown is free delivery for customers 65 and older in the local community. Ashley explains the vision of this service, “Currently we are offering waived delivery fees for customers 65 years or older within the Paso Robles city limits! This will be a limited offer but we are not sure when it will end. We are still taking it day-by-day.”

Moving Forward Celebrating Their 4th Anniversary of the Premier Ag Retail Store

Premier Ag recently celebrated their four-year anniversary of the retail store front in Paso Robles on May 16, 2020. Behind the store front one will find 32 years of bringing farm-to-stable hay to the SLO community. In order to bring the best possible product to their customers, Premier Ag grows their own forage mix. They have also taken the time to cultivate personal relationships with other hay growers to hand-pick the hay brought back to the yard. This way they know exactly how each product will meet the high standards of their customers.

Premier Ag Knows Their Customers

Premier Ag trucks hit the road to bring the best product for customers not only in SLO County, but throughout California. In addition, the retail shop carries the largest inventory of feed supplements, stall and bedding shavings, a large section of animal health and show supplies, new and used consignment tack, ropes and roping accessories, western boutique, custom hat shaping bar, and soil amendments/spreading. Premier Ag serves the entire state of California with hay, feed, shavings and product deliveries and will ship merchandise (excluding feed, hay, and saddles) throughout the US.

Store hours – Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturdays from 8am to 2pm – remained the same during the shutdown. Now Premier Ag welcomes in-store customers as they embrace the re-opening of SLO County. Several services implemented during the shutdown will continue states Ashley, “Our store cleanliness has always and will remain extremely important to us. We also always want to offer different ordering options (like on-line through the website) so we can best suit our customer’s comfort levels and needs.”

New Products and Hay Offerings Constantly Growing

The family behind Premier Ag knows how to grow things. In that same vein they are constantly looking to grow their offerings from the retail store. “The feed lines we carry are consistently growing,” explains Ashley who also invites fans to follow them on social media: Premier Ag Facebook or Instagram @premier_ag, “to be kept up-to-date with all the new products and price drops regarding our inventory!”

So Thankful for the SLO Community Family Connection

The people behind Premier Ag know the family bond is one of the strongest connections in our human experience. They have experienced this from the larger SLO agricultural community which has kept them going through the shutdown.

“We have always known how wonderful our community is, but during these hard times it has been truly beautiful to see everyone come together to help each other,” says Ashley as she reflects back on what they learned through the shutdown. “Our biggest lesson has been that even when things are unsure, we rally together and help each other succeed. Whether that is continued ordering, shopping our online boutique, recommending us to a friend, or leaving us a review online it all means so much to a small business!”

Premier Ag is here to stay, to serve the ag family in SLO County. Ashley leaves us with this final reflection, “We would just like thank everyone for their continued support. It is because of you we are able to keep all our staff employed and it’s an honor we do not take lightly! We encourage everyone to follow us on social, check out our websites www.premierag.net and www.premieragboutique.com. Stop by or give us a call with any questions!”

The store front for Premier Ag is located at 1041 Paso Robles Street, Paso Robles, CA. In-store visitors and feed pick-ups are welcome and they will gladly deliver in the local Paso area. Conveniently shop the boutique on-line and get your merchandise shipped to you – anywhere in the US. You can also pick up orders at the store. Whatever way you choose to interact with this special brand of people, you’ll be treated like family.
