to reward Riders wearing Helmets at Competitive Trail Challenges
ACTHA is proud to partner with Ovation Helmets, to promote the use of riding helmets on the trail and to reward those riders who choose to wear a helmet at ACTHA Competitive Trail Challenges. Ovation Helmet’s lightweight, low-profile design makes them the ultimate trail riding helmet and the Official Helmet of ACTHA.
Every time a rider who will be wearing a helmet on the trail registers for an ACTHA CTC in theOpen, Pleasure or Junior Division, riders will check the box that states this rider will be wearing an SEI/ASTM approved helmet during this CTC. A rider will receive one point for every Competitive Trail Challenge completed wearing a helmet. At the end of the 2012-2013 Season, the Top 5 riders with the highest number of points from each division will receive a brand new Ovation Extreme Helmet. A total of 15 helmets will be awarded at the end of the 2012-2013 ACTHA season.
“The safety of our horses and riders is paramount to us here at ACTHA” states ACTHA Co-Founder Carrie Scrima “the Ovation Safety Award is a great way for us to encourage our riders to wear a helmet and stay safe on the trail. All riders under the age of 18 years old are required to wear a helmet in ACTHA trail challenges but this will be a great way to encourage our adult riders to lead by example”.
