“After an entire life with horses, I continue to be awestruck by them daily; spellbound by their intellect and humor, by their strength and physicality, by their breath on my cheek.” This quote was pulled from the blog of clinician, Anna Blake, who will be bringing her insight into horses and riding to the Central Coast October 6-7, 2018.
Concept Clinic By Author and Clinician Anna Blake
The Brass Oaks Driving Society is hosting a Concept Clinic by Anna Blake where riders will explore ideas with exercises designed to open up communication with horses and improve training. The Concept Clinic will take place over two days where riders and their horses will participate in two key concepts.
- Day One – October 6, 2018 – Calming Signals
- Day Two – October 7, 2018 – Rhythm and Dance
Clinic organizer Laurel Renz has this to say about Anna Blake, “My first experience with Anna was about 3 years ago, reading her book Stable Relation. From the very first pages I was sold on Anna and her remarkable writing:
‘When most women go through a mid-life crisis, they start a diet, get plastic surgery, or have an affair. My life went to the dogs…and horses…and llamas… and did I mention happy hour with the goats? My urban world came apart, so I took a leap of faith and crash-landed on a dilapidated would-be horse farm on the flat, windy, treeless prairie of Colorado.’
Who wouldn’t be intrigued by that paragraph?”
Clinician Anna Blake is an award-winning author of several books and has spent most of her life around horses. She is an equine professional who specializes in teaching communication skills and dressage to horses and riders of all disciplines.
