Carrot Fest Update

 

This Saturday and Sunday 6/1 and 6/2 at  Montana de Oro

Hosted by SLOPOST, CCCMB and Coast Mounted Assistance of Montana de Oro

  •  CA State Parks has reserved horse camp for this event from Friday 2pmthru Monday 12 noon.
  • Free camping available for both equestrians and non-equestrians. Please email Kathy at email address below to reserve   your spot.

Overall weekend schedule:

  • Campers can arrive anytime after 2 pm Friday 5/31.  The Oak group horse camp at the bottom of Horse Camp Road will be where we are gathering for trail work on Saturday and group ride on Sunday.
  • Some day parking should be available for cars in the back horse camps further from the coast.  
  • Friday and Saturday night dinner on your own. 

Saturday Multi-user Trail work with leaders from CCCMB, CMA and LPBCH

  • Meet for Trail Work at 10 am- projects will include brushing East Boundary, Bloody Nose, Baranca and possibly North Hazard Peak Trail
  • There are projects to be done around the horse camp for those who prefer to help out with those projects.
  • We will work until 1 pm and then head back to camp for:
  • Food and cold beverages provided by SLOPOST plus raffle prizes
  • Grand Raffle prize for this day is a Rogue Hoe Trail Tool
  • Carrots and carrot cake for dessert

There will plenty of time after lunch for a ride on your own. Dinner for campers is on your own.

Sunday Multi-User Trail Ride with lots of carrots

  • Meet at 9 am to get ready for a group trail ride. A shorter ride and longer ride will be available.
  • Should you not be comfortable going out with the group you are welcome to ride on your own and then join us later for lunch.
  • Pizza lunch with cold beverages provided after the ride about 12-12:30 plus raffle prizes.
  • Grand Raffle prize for participating in both days is a beautiful handmade teak folding camping table. It is so pretty you might even want to use it at home.

There will plenty of time after lunch for a ride on your own. Dinner for campers is on your own.

We have the camp until Monday at noon so if you want you may stay through until then.
