Help Save the Nipomo Park Trails and Oaks

On December18,2012 the Board of Supervisors will be meeting to endorse the Environmental Impact Report and accept the Master plan on the build out of the Nipomo Community Park.  The plan will destroy 27 1/2 acres of rural oaks, grasslands, and horse trails to build a recreation center, 6 ball fields, a swimming pool, a skate board park and much more. Many of the amenities are available at our schools or could be built elsewhere.  As Nipomo has developed many of the trails have vanished.  Nipomo Park is one of the last remaining area for equestrians in Nipomo and the surrounding areas and must be preserved for generations to come.  Please help us protect them by sending an e-mail to the Board of Supervisors (boardofsups@co.slo.ca.us)  with a cc to the county planner Elizabeth Kavanaugh (ekavanaugh@co.slo.ca.us) and bcc it to me (harryfwalls@sbcglobal.net). Let them know you are opposed to the master plan build out and want the rural portion of the park and trails preserved for passive recreation. Please attend the BOS meeting and show your support for our equestrians. At the meeting you can speak or just stand up to support your fellow equestrians.

Thank you for your help,

Jackie Walls
