Sheila Varian is our SLO County neighbor and fellow horse enthusiast who is most well-known for her grand influence on the Arabian breed. Every day I drive down the road near my house where her facility also resides; I see the beautiful Varian Arabian horses out on green pastures. I always enjoy seeing the pink or blue flags fluttering alongside the valiant American and California flags, which announce the recent arrival of a filly or a colt. Today a pink, “It’s a Filly”, flag was boldly stating the new arrival.
Shelia has been fighting cancer with her usual vigor, yet the time has come for her to make significant decisions. Rather than having us re-tell her story we think it best for you to follow along on the Caring Bridge site where we have been receiving current updates. You can register as a member and follow her story and write her notes of encouragement yourself when you click this link >.
Happy Trails to you Sheila and may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
So sorry to hear about the amazing Sheila Varian, probably the most famous/successful Arabian breeder in the US! Keep up the fight, Sheila! Charlene
