Gathering Toys As Usual: Toys For Tots Trail Ride

Every year financially struggling families in our community enjoy having brighter holidays with gifts from the Toys for Tots trail ride.  This year, the 48th Annual Atascadero Horsemen’s Club Toys for Tots trail ride, will be taking place on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Riders will ride between the Atascadero Mutual Water Company Maintenance Yard to the Home Depot Arena and back, traveling in the Salinas riverbed.

The Atascadero Horsemen’s Club has been gathering toys and cash/checks for families in need through a Toys for Tots trail ride. Atascadero Horsemen’s Club started in 1964. Right from the beginning, the club secured a way to support the local community, specifically children during the holidays.  Sponsoring a toy drive in connection with the Toys for Tots program helps them accomplish that goal. Come participate with them!

48th Annual Toys for Tots Trail Ride

Gathering toys and gathering for the ride will begin at 9:00 am and close up at 3:00 at the Atascadero Mutual Water Company Maintenance Yard at 6805 Sycamore Road in Atascadero. Horseback riding participants will enjoy the trail ride when they are ready to go out.  Riders will bring a new, unwrapped toy, or make a donation to Loaves and Fishes. Please no gift cards.

When and How Participation in Toys for Tots Trail Ride Works

Anyone can bring toy, or a cash donation for Toys for Tots to the staging area for collection. Cash donations are managed by Atascadero Loaves and Fishes.  All toys and gifts go to to the Marine Toys for Tots – The Kiwanis Club of Atascadero – who will be distributing the items.  The staging area is the Atascadero Mutual Water Company Maintenance Yard at 6805 Sycamore Road in Atascadero. Interested riders can enjoy the trail ride from the staging area to the Home Depot Center, whenever the timing works for them.

What Items Can Be Donated?

Atascadero Horsemen’s Club is collecting only new, unwrapped toys, cash or checks. Please do not donate gift cards.  Be sure to remember teens with appropriate gifts.

Who Can Donate?

Anyone with a giving heart can donate items or money. Just swing by the staging area at 6805 Sycamore Road in Atascadero and get into the giving spirit.
