Day one is a Bridleless Riding clinic which gets you ready for the next two days. Intro to Mounted Archery is the day two clinic. This leads to mounted archery horsemanship instruction on day three, the subject of the Repeat Offenders clinic. All three clinics are set to happen January 10-12, 2020 at Varian Ranch. Come to one or all three days.
Mounted Archery is coming to the Central Coast!
A three-day clinic has been designed for you to get inspired to release your inner warrior through a bridleless riding clinic followed by a two-day mounted archery clinic. All this happens at the Varian Ranch in Arroyo Grande, CA January 10-12, 2020.

Day 1 – Bridleless Riding Clinic
FRIDAY January 10, 2020 – Heather Lomax
Mounted Archery requires hands free-riding so what better way to start out a Mounted Archery Clinic than with a Bridleless Riding clinic?
Introduction to Bridleless Riding. Preparation for the everyday rider to develop the skills to ride hands-free and/or drop the bridle. Don’t worry, if you are not ready to go bridleless, there are other important skills to build. This clinic is for all levels of riders. Let me help you better communicate with your horse. Whether this is your first horse, or you are a seasoned rider, I can help you achieve the next level of horsemanship.
The Bridleless Riding clinic is the perfect companion clinic for the Mounted Archery Clinic with Elizabeth Tinnan the following two days!
Cost $150 or $100 if taking Mounted Archery with Elizabeth Tinnan. Auditors $20.00 per day at the door.
Who is Heather Lomax?
Though she began riding horses before she learned to walk, Heather Lomax truly began to learn about horsemanship during her college years. Mentored by Reined Cow horse trainers early in her career before returning to the Tennessee Walking Horse breed she grew up with, Heather then gained over 20 years of experience specializing in training TWHs and other gaited breeds, and developing sound horse/rider relationships, including: showing and training TWHs, bridleless and at-liberty trick demonstrations, riding and horsemanship instruction for beginners through advanced riders, and presenting Bridleless Clinics.

Day 2 – Introduction to Mounted Archery Clinic
January 11, 2020 – Elizabeth Gonzalez Tinnan
Range safety and etiquette Equipment familiarization (all equipment provided)
SATURDAY 9am-5pm
We will work on ground archery, loading drills and blind nocking until lunch. After lunch, we will bring horses in for desensitization before mounting up! Work at your own pace. This is about building a solid foundation and providing a positive experience for both you and your horse.

- Horse desensitization
- Shooting from the back of a horse with a barrier to help guide your horse down the track.

Day 3 – Repeat Offenders Mounted Archery Clinic *
January 12, 2020 – Elizabeth Gonzalez Tinnan
SUNDAY 9am-5pm
Take it to the next level with the Repeat Offenders Clinic which focuses on mounted archery horsemanship.
We will warm up on the ground with different shooting drills for speed shooting and improving instinctive archery. We will then mount up and continue building our skills.
*You must either take the Saturday clinic or already be shooting from your horse, even if only at a walk, to participate on Sunday. I will work with you at YOUR level.

Who is Elizabeth Gonzalez Tinnan?
Elizabeth Tinnan is owner of Chattahoochee Horse Archers and is a full time horseback archery clinician and competitor. Along with competing throughout the US, she competes internationally, recently returning from competitions in South Korea and Mongolia. Elizabeth specializes in building confidence by providing a step by step process, guiding both horse and rider through the introduction of this exciting sport.

Heather Lomax (Hidden Creek Ranch) will also be providing suitable war ponies for those who need a horse to use in Elizabeth’s January 11th and/or 12th clinics.

RV overnight camping available on site at the beautiful Varian Arabians, Arroyo Grande, CA.
Arrangements for horse rental, camping and stabling can be made through the registration links.
Human accommodation recommendation is at the Agrarian Hotel in the Village of Arroyo Grande.
