Have Fun and Improve Your Riding : Three Clinics with Gerhard Politz

Who wants to have some fun and see immediate improvement in their riding? Gerhard Politiz, Master German Dressage Instructor, is witty as well as brilliant and he’s coming to Santa Ynez for three clinics this year.

“In almost fifty years of studying, training, teaching and competing according to the classical principles and the Pyramid of Training, Gerhard Politz has acquired the depth of knowledge and experience which enables him to bring out the best in both horse and rider,” this summarizes Gerhard’s lengthy biography on his website.

This German Master Teacher embodies an in-depth understanding of Dressage, and brings experience in Hunter/Jumpers and Eventing. He has literally grown up with the sport of Dressage and has produced 18 Grand Prix horses from the lower levels up.

Three Clinics in Santa Ynez in 2019 – Plus a Bonus Lecture

Gerhard is currently based in at Flintridge in LaCanada, CA and conducts clinics around the world. He’ll be in our neighboring county in Santa Ynez at Refugio Road Ranch, 2181 N Refugio Road, for three clinics this year: March 9-10, June 15-16 then again September 7-8, 2019.

Bonus Lecture Before Each Clinic

Come participate in Dressage Conversations, “Schooling Your Eye” led by Gerhard Politz. We have added this event at F2 Wines starting at 6:00 pm on the Friday prior to the clinics. These conversations are open to everyone, just come to learn and have fun.

Who doesn’t need a good excuse to drink some lovely wine at F2 Wines in Los Olivos? Gerhard is a brilliant and witty gentleman; Even if you are not up to riding in his clinics, you would benefit from his presentation at F2 Wines.

What You Can Learn

Sarah Graham, clinic host who has ridden with him since 1991, has this to say about Gerhard: “Gerhard is a highly experienced professional, having been a trainer for many years, competed internationally, and highly involved in the USDF trainer certification, writing of the dressage tests, and young rider training, among other things. I always learn a lot!!”

Come have fun and discover how you can get the best out of your riding as a participant or come glean from others as an auditor.

Each riding session is $165 with half of Gerhard’s fees going to the Dressage Foundation earmarked for budding young professionals. Gerhard will tailor lessons to the horse and rider as we will have both Dressage and Eventing riders.

Anyone is welcome to audit the clinic for free – we are glad to have anyone interested. No pre registration required as we have plenty of shady viewing area.

Refugio Ranch Road at 2181 N Refugio Road in Santa Ynez offers plenty of seating in the shade, dinner for participants on Saturday on site, plenty of parking, and stabling available for $25/night.
