Horsefeathers Summer Horse Camp : Riding, Horsemanship Skills and Games

Riding instruction, games and horsemanship skills are all part of one horse-filled, week-long, five hours a day, Horsefeathers summer day camp in Arroyo Grande at Ocean Breeze Equestrian Center on the Mesa. Mixed Western and English style riding sessions are available and every session ends with its own horse show.

Anyone is Welcome at the Summer Horse Camp

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced camps for all ages are currently scheduled and ready for you. Anyone looking to improve his or her horsemanship skills will enjoy all the activities at Horsefeathers Summer Horse Camp. Horses are assigned to each camper for the week or campers can bring their own horse. Stabling for the week for non-resident horses can be arranged.

Heather Grenamyer is the instructor. This is her 12th annual year of offering summer horse camp sessions. The one thing she looks forward to the most is watching beginning campers learn how to independently catch, tie-up, groom, tack-up, bridle, mount and care for their horse with less help every day.

July Summer Horsefeathers Horse Camp Sessions

There are six weekly sessions open in late June and through July. Camp runs Monday – Friday from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. One week of camp including the horse and tack starts at $450. Closing date is the week before camp starts, but horses get reserved fast. All sessions will be held at 315 Jenner Way, Arroyo Grande. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a horse.

Campers will bring their own lunch and snacks. Parents are welcome to stay and watch but should bring their own chair. Easy trailer in and out make bringing your own horse convenient. See flyer for contact information.
